Advertising in the modern era

Advertising has been out there since centuries, and with time it has changed ever so rapidly. Advertising is a big part of the media business. It is a multibillion dollar industry, and keeps on getting bigger. We now ive in a world where our everyday life is surrounded by advertisements, as we are stuck in a torrent of images and sounds. These images are trying their very best to attract our interests. We see Advertisements in all mediums/forms of the media. There are a lot of growing issues concerning modern day advertisements. One of the major concerns are how some advertisement try to foul us. Companies now tend not to sell the product rather they sell the idea. For example a Coke advertisement states “have a better taste of life”, even though it says that, but in reality Coke is not good for our health. We consumers are always fooled by these ads, and they are so many that we are losing trust in deciding which ad states the truth, and which would actually benefit us. The other issue concerning advertisement is exposure of the naked body. Now if companies want to attract the consumer they would hire a model who would pose by showing of her body. Now we see this becoming very common in magazines, and on television. It also works very well in attracting consumers, and children are getting exposed to it as well. I personally believe advertising companies have been given to much freedom to speak of. Creative directors think creatively to attract a common consumer’s interest through any means possible, and there should be a limit to it, and they should also stop fooling us with their attractive advertisements.
